Tyre pressure, damage and load
  1. Use the vehicle maker’s pressure recommendation for the fitted tyres and load, normally checked cold. A sidewall maximum is not your everyday target pressure.
  2. A pressure-monitor warning does not identify every defect. Check safely for a puncture, visible damage or loss of pressure and follow the handbook. Do not reset the warning merely to hide an unresolved problem.
  3. Inspect tread, sidewalls and uneven wear regularly. A bulge, exposed cord or serious damage needs professional assessment; adding pressure is not a repair. Recheck recommendations before carrying a heavier load.
