Priority road

Purpose and student action

Establish who must wait. Priority never permits creating a collision; check approaching road users.

Read · decide · act

  1. Read the exact sign: give way, STOP, priority road or narrow-passage priority are different.
  2. Scan both sides, pedestrians, cycles and rail vehicles before entering.
  3. Enter only when you can clear the junction; priority is not permission to force a collision.

Applied situations

You have priority but a vehicle has already blocked the junction.

Show the answer and reason

Slow or stop to avoid a collision and wait for space.

B9 starts a priority road and B11 ends it. Neither sign authorises dangerous entry or forcing a collision.
