- Decide whether the sign identifies a road regime, destination, facility or local name.
- If it starts or ends a road regime, apply that regime’s rules, not just the picture.
- Plan lane changes early; never cross a prohibited line to recover a missed exit.

F34a. Signal de direction à proximité des équipements et établissements publics ou d'intérêt général et en particulier: aéroport, bibliothèque, bureau de poste et téléphones, pompiers et protection civile, centre ou complexe culture et d'animation, centre public d'aide sociale (C.P.A.S.), cimetière, clinique et hôpital, services de police, établissement d'enseignement, gare des services de transport en commun, hall de foire ou d'exposition, hôtel de ville ou maison communale, organisme de télévision, lieu de culte, musée, palais de justice, parking, port, poste de secours, bureau de taxation, théâtre, entreprise et zone industrielle, centre commercial. Le signal peut être complété par le symbole des signaux F33a, F53, F55, F59 et F61 ainsi que par les symboles suivants:
F34a. Bewegwijzeringsbord in de nabijheid van inrichtingen en etablissementen die openbaar zijn of van algemeen belang, en in 't bijzonder: luchthaven, bibliotheek, post- en telefoonkantoor, brandweer en civiele bescherming, cultureel centrum of complex, animatiecentrum, openbaar centrum voor maatschappelijk welzijn (O.C.M.W.), begraafplaats, kliniek en ziekenhuis, politiediensten, onderwijsinstelling, station van de diensten voor het gemeenschappelijk vervoer, televisieomroep, plaats voor eredienst, museum, gerechtsgebouw, parking, haven, hulppost, taxatiekantoor, schouwburg, bedrijf, industriepark en commercieel centrum. Het verkeersbord mag aangevuld worden met het symbool van de verkeersborden F33a, F53, F55, F59 en F61 alsook met de volgende symbolen :
