Read the main sign, then any supplementary panel and the road markings. An exception for a particular vehicle does not automatically apply to your car. A navigation instruction never overrides a prohibition at the entrance.
Lesson · Signs & traffic lights
Read a sign together with its surroundings
If the instruction is unclear, reduce speed safely and choose a permitted route instead of improvising a prohibited turn. After passing a sign, remember its scope; a zone does not end merely because the next junction has no repeated sign.
