Dashboard: warning or normal operation?
  1. Read the symbol, colour and message together. A brief ignition self-test differs from a warning that stays on after starting. Consult the vehicle handbook.
  2. Low oil pressure is not simply a reminder to change oil. If its warning persists while running, stop safely, switch off and seek assistance according to the handbook.
  3. An overheating warning requires safe stopping and the manufacturer’s procedure. Never open a hot pressurised cooling-system cap.
  4. Battery/charging warnings, ABS warnings and parking-brake indicators mean different things. Do not diagnose from colour alone or hide a warning by resetting it.
